In 2002, the Munster Literature Centre introduced the Seán Ó Faoláin Short Story Prize, an annual short story competition dedicated to one of Ireland's most accomplished story writers and theorists, open for submissions from May through July annually. This too is presented during the FOC festival. This year's judge is writer Danielle McLaughlin. The 2015 competition has now closed. The shortlisted writers will be contacted by 1 September, and the winner will be announced at this year's Cork International Short Story Festival. For more information, please visit the Munster Literature Centre homepage. To find out more about winners of the prize from previous years, visit our awards page.

The winner of the 2015 prize is TBA this September!
